Hey beautiful people, how are you all doing ? It's been a while I came down here to share what's on my mind. Scrolling through my instagram today(like everyday), watching the amazing content by the famous creators, I realised how expectations are set across in our minds. Don't these creators or rather instagram , or rather any other social media platform, play such an important parts in our lives? All these videos screaming luxury right through them.
Okay ! What is luxury ? or rather the idea of it?
Living in mansions? Driving a Rolls-Royce ? Watching a beautiful sunset from your jacuzzi?owning a private pool ? recording snippets from your private jet?
Well, according to me, Luxury is a feeling- A feeling of being able to do anything. A feeling of comfort. A feeling of security.
Also, the definition of luxury is different for the same person in his/her different phases of life. In the early phase of the life, luxury is quite materialistic. It's about owning expensive things which we can live a lifetime without. A luxury item is not necessary to live, but it is deemed highly desirable within a culture or society. Growing up, luxury is freedom.
Social media sets our expectations so high from life. We do forget that people are sharing the best moment of their lives and not their entire lives. The same people have their low days too. You might be living your best moments without documenting them which doesn't mean you're any less happier. Now-a-days living a perfect life is not as important as showing it is.
Like I said earlier, luxury is a feeling. A feeling of accomplishment. For example - Providing for your loved ones is a more luxurious feeling than providing for yourself. Try it.
In today's world - where deceit is everywhere, having someone who loves you selflessly is a luxury too. Having loving friends is a luxury. Having time to do what makes you happy is luxury. Take a dive into your life and count your blessings, I am sure it'd light a smile on your face.
Guys, luxury is not hiring the best psychiatrist, but being happy.
Luxury is happiness which many can't afford and many don't have to. Which one are you?
